FCS: A Healthy Addiction

I have a question to you all.
Do you all have a healthy addiction?
No, besides opera.
Yes, opera is, no doubt, the best addiction, at least for anyone who finds time to read this blog ( well, almost anyone, anyway).Yes, opera keeps us young and slim ( we do eat less ice-cream and donuts to be fit for the new season, don’t we? At least in August? At least in the last week of August?)
Seriously speaking, I am extremely proud to share that I have one very healthy addiction. I am addicted to working out in the gym. Years of aerobics, tennis and running did their deed. I am completely hooked and am finally starting to see the major positive impact of workouts in my life.
I usually do not write about problems or stress in my blog, even though, like everyone else I have it all, and sometimes more. However, the best thing I can do to get rid of everything negative that the day brings is to just let myself run on the treadmill for at least 20 minutes straight, letting my mind go completely blank (the best feeling in the world, trust me), with absolutely no thinking involved! And then fill the rest of the hour with muscle adductor/abductor exercises and what not.
I love it. I really do. Now, because our Friday Culture Shock section is always my monologue, let’s make it a conversation this time! Feel free to pitch in and share your healthy addictions. No pressure, but if everyone shares, it will be fun, I promise.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

My healthy addiction has been spinach for the last couple of years. I use it almost in everything I cook, even instead of lettuce when I make my salad.
Nothing else healthy to report. I think I drink too much coffee, and that is definitely an unhealthy addiction. Better than smoking though.

There isn't one healthy thing that I do, except that I don't drink or smoke. Every addiction that I have is pretty unhealthy, except opera that does not count. Sorry, could not contribute much to the discussion.

Raisa,

I am hopeless addicted to opera and other good classical music. I tend to be either very admiring or very critical. I guess travel would be my next "addiction", but I also include cooking, good food and photography. As evidenced by my ever-growing collection of music, you could say I am forever hopeless.

Music as you know is very passionate, evokes strong feelings and helps blockout the rest of the world. When I was in graduate school, I would put on headphones and read several hundred pages of pathology.

Keep up the great work!

Oh,so besides your incredible and unexplainable(but well-deserved) jump onto the Mount Olympus, you are also athletic! You just never fail to shock us. Where on Earth do you have time to exercise?
Sometimes I just want to be you? Does it sound wrong, 'cuz I mean it in a good way?
Like Jack, I have no healthy addictions, except that I drink a lot of green tea. Here goes another mug.
Cheers!

Are we going to talk about our unhealthy addictions too? I am sure we all have a bit to contribute to the discussion.
